A special meeting of the Richardson School Board of Trustees is set for Monday at 7 30 p m in the board room of the School Administration Building. The agenda includes bids on additions to Lake Highlands High School White Rock Elementary and O Henry Elementary appointing a textbook committee naming of schools discussion of the Arapaho crowding and setting a date to inspect a new building.
Glenn Head and Scott Wening of Richardson will join the YMCA Youth and Government program in Austin. They will act as official reporter and Texas House member during a three day session with more than 600 youths from around the state.
A state firefighting instructor lauded the Richardson Fire Department at graduation exercises for two recruit classes. Chief Oliver Swor and Administrative Chief Roger Pond led the ceremony with diplomas presented to ten graduates including Benny Howard and Jackie Mayfield. Richardson High School's Golden Eagle Band will board a Monday train for Chicago to attend the Midwest Music Festival as one of five U S high school bands invited. Police kept alert for shoplifters as a Dallas woman faced theft charges after stealing merchandise worth over $200 in Richardson stores. Earlier in the week three other shoplifters, two men and a woman, were arrested along with two hot check passers.
The Richardson Jaycees launch their annual Christmas lighting contest to boost civic pride and Yuletide spirit with awards for best general, window, and religious decorations. Judging is Friday December 18 from 7 to 10 pm citywide. no entries are required.

The plan calls for 1400 pounds of turkey 3000 pounds of cornbread dressing 2500 pounds of potatoes and 15000 hot rolls plus pies milk and vegetables. The district will use 930 man hours with 155 staff to prepare 4800 dishes per hour in each cafeteria.
