The North Texas Commission projects four percent annual job growth in eight counties through 1975. Total employment reached 1,046,800 in September and is expected to hit 1,059,390 by year end, with 37,930 new jobs in 1972, 41,200 in 1973, 40,370 in 1974, and 44,000 in 1975. Unemployment declined from 1961 to 1972, with 31,300 jobless in 1972 and a current rate near 3.1 percent.

County bonds eyed as plan funds travel to New York

Unemployment Drops in Dallas Fort Worth Area

Police log notes minor incidents in 24 hour period
Richardson police investigated several minor incidents through 7 a.m. Saturday. A man in the 200 block of Central Expressway was found to have a Dallas warrant and was taken into custody. James Thurman Petty, 4, of Princeton, was detained on a Dallas warrant and jailed for no license. Memory Turner III, 25, of Dallas, at UT Dallas, faces theft over $50 charge after authorities say he bought merchandise and used a university computer while not a student or staff. A 17-year-old from Wylie was charged with shoplifting vehicle parts valued at $1.99 and released with a citation.

Tijerina Funeral Held for 14 Year Old in Richardson
Funeral services were conducted Saturday at Restland's Wildwood Chapel for Kevin Michael Tijerina 14 of 2107 Flat Creek Richardson. The ninth grader at Richardson North Junior High was found dead of a gunshot wound at his home Thursday. He is survived by parents Adolf and unknown mother sisters Nanette and Carla and brothers Derek and Taryn all of Richardson. Grandparents Mrs Aurora Tijerina of Alice Texas and Mr and Mrs T J Johnson of Pensacola Florida.
