Twenty Richardson YMCA Hi-Y boys and girls depart at 8 30 a m for Austin to take part in the state Youth and Government program. Delegates will participate in judicial and legislative phases and publish a daily paper. A youth governor and Chief Justice will be elected.

Apparent self-inflicted gunshot death investigated here
David Nottingham of 206 East Polk died early Saturday from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Richardson police and the medical examiner said preliminary reports suggest a personal safety related wound, with a full autopsy pending.

Former Richardson banker jailed for embezzlement and false entries
Dan Lambert, ex executive vice president of First Bank and Trust, Richardson, received 60 days in prison and 16 months probation after jurors found him guilty on three counts of embezzlement totaling 23 047 and bank record falsification. His attorney said restitution would be paid. A trial date was set for March 9 for rival ex Citizens State Bank executive Robert B Cameron accused of embezzling 6 500.

Richardson Police Chief J. W. Golden urges shoppers to hide packages in locked cars or trunk and avoid leaving vehicles unlocked. National Automobile Theft Bureau notes many thieves strike in busy shopping areas during holidays and two thirds of stolen cars were left unlocked with keys in ignition. Union Pessimistic On Collins Layoff Totals Near 740
Local 787 predicts Collins Radio Co may lay off more than 740 workers in Dallas area, with about 490 already cut since Oct 15 and 250 more expected by Feb 1. City officials attend state parks meeting in Houston
Three city employees attended the Texas Recreation and Parks Society workshop and conference in Houston last weekend.
