Food prices rise two percent in November market basket
The Daily News reports a 2.15 percent month over month rise in its November market basket survey across seven Richardson supermarkets. Coffee hits 2.43 a pound while dairy costs jump with eggs at 87 cents per dozen and milk at 48 cents a quart. Butter falls to 1.31 per pound and pork items show mixed moves as beef hot dogs dip to 1.21. Local expert Gwendolyne Clyatt of Texas A&M notes broad discount opportunities on shoulder roasts and other pork cuts, with orange juice remaining a bargain in frozen counters.

Weekend burglaries hit three Richardson homes
Three Richardson residents reported burglaries over the weekend with entry through forced or pried doors. Losses included stereo equipment, a television, a shotgun, and cash totaling over 2 700 dollars. Vehicles were damaged or stolen and two suspects were arrested for burglary and theft.

At J J Pearce High School the GAZORP group faced suspension after skits and banners at pep rallies drew officials’ ire. Principal Stamps and Assistant Principal Lowder said banners needed prior approval and the group violated rules, ending in disbandment and threatened suspensions.

City council weighs zoning changes and bond results
The city council holds a recessed public hearing Tuesday at city hall to consider reclassifying 44 Woodhaven Addition lots from RA 1100 M to D 1400 M duplex zoning. It will canvass votes from a 15.7 million bond election and review Moran’s 3 81?86 acre industrial zoning request. Also on the agenda are fuel and rate adjustments from utilities and oaths for new board members.
