Town meeting on youth set here Wednesday night
Richardson's Youth Action Commission hosts a brainstorming town meeting at 7 30 p m in the Greenville Avenue Auditorium to solicit constructive suggestions on youth activity programs before drafting its final report for the City Council. All commission members will attend with a panel for discussion and Council liaison Councilman Raymond Noah.

Greenwood Hills fire damages house at 905 Greenbriar Drive
A Monday morning blaze in the Greenwood Hills area caused by combustibles near a central heating unit damaged the Wolff residence at 905 Greenbriar Drive. Estimated damages run to $8000 for the house with contents value not yet known. Fire crews from two engines and one truck, plus off duty firefighters, fought the fire and cleared debris.

Richardson Council approves A-950M zoning for 52 apartments
In a regular meeting the Richardson City Council held a public hearing on zoning change and opened bids for two city projects. They granted James Galletta's request for A-950M apartment zoning on a 35 acre tract west of Custer Road and north of Rockingham Lane. Galletta’s representative Roger Herod said the plan includes 52 apartment units and eight duplexes facing Custer Road.

Weekend police report lists thefts, arrests and burglaries
The report details 60 radio calls, 15 jail arrests and 57 traffic citations over the weekend. A 14 foot boat, an outboard motor and a home made trailer were stolen from 527 Polk Street. Saturday saw multiple underage alcohol arrests in Dallas youths and shoplifting incidents at Gibson's Discount Store and Tom Thumb in Arapaho Village. A burglary at 205 North Weatherred was reported, plus an attempted suicide in West Richardson. City bids were opened for West Side Pump Station equipment and for an industrial tractor backhoe.
