Richardson City Council discussed First National Bank request for a special permit to operate new and used car sales on land north of Belt Line Road about 650 feet west of Plano Road. Police questioned four youths after three separate incidents. Two 16 year olds from Richardson High were jailed after midnight when one resisted arrest and hid a long object, later found to be a 72 inch bayonet. A 17 year old from Richardson was jailed after a gang fight at Beltline Road. Five Carrolton youths were involved in the brawl, with one arrested amid drinking and belligerence.
Durward S Stewart presided at the annual District luncheon in the Federal Community Room as Camp Fire Girls Inc. installed district officers. New Leaders Association officers were named and five year pins awarded to numerous members including J A Trewin and R S Garvie.
A Dallas warehouse worker planned to steal a $106 automatic shotgun. He placed the box on a window ledge with a string to reel it in. Returning with a friend after dark, he found three shotguns. two were recovered by police still in the box.
