The Dallas County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center board will present an estimated budget and the county's share to Commissioners Court Monday. Last year the county contributed 250000 dollars of a 945000 dollar full budget for the first full year of MH MR operation in the county. Charles G Cullum chairs the MH MR board.

Dallas burglar escapes from Richardson jail
A 25 year old Dallas burglar escaped from the Richardson City Jail on Friday night by forcing open a steel ceiling panel in his cell and crawling out through a ventilation shaft. He was being questioned after police identified him in North Dallas burglaries and is sought by Richardson and Dallas police.

Tyler youth hailed for thwarting bank robbery
Tyler resident Frank Farris was honored as Frank Farris Day by KDOK for aiding in the capture of a bank robber at the South Side State Bank in Tyler. Farris followed the suspect from the drive in window to a Montgomery Ward lot, then to Stuckey’s on I-20, called police, aiding recovery of all stolen money and revealing the bomb was a dummy. Suspects Kuykendall and Harrell were arrested.

Police Officers Attend Supervision Course
Two Richardson sergeants L. F. Eudy and John A. Vermillion attend a two week short school on supervision of police personnel at the North Central Texas Police Academy through Dec. 12.
