Richardson Community Band plans second concert Sept 1
The Richardson Community Concert Band under Joe Frank will perform at Ter race Park in Richardson on Wednesday Sept 1 at 7 15 p m. The program includes Light Cavalry Overture Semper Fidelis The Thunderer and medleys from The Man of La Mancha and Richard Rodgers tunes. They drew about 1100 listeners at the first concert and aim for a larger audience. Frank, a long time Richardson music figure, leads the band formed in 1970 by volunteers from Richardson and nearby areas.

Burglars Target Richardson Sites In Weekend Crime Spree
Police report a string of thefts over the weekend including a 160 dollar cash theft at 101 South Bowser and 95 dollar tools taken from 800 Custer Road. A Fort Worth man, 23, was booked after stealing a Remington rifle from Gibson's Discount Center. a 21 year old woman involved was cleared. A break in at 424 Shady Brook Drive yielded 1100 dollars in cash and goods. A church custodian found juveniles fleeing 319 LaSalle. nothing was missing.

Call for Volunteers at Richardson Center Orientation
Orientation for volunteers at the Richardson Development Center will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Fellowship Hall at First United Presbyterian Church.
