Presley earns Army Commendation Medal for Vietnam heroism
Donald E. Presley, 21, a specialist in the 164th Combat Aviation Group, volunteered for a February mission at Vinh Long Army Airfield in southern Vietnam. He and 11 others received the Army Commendation Medal for heroism in a 1 a.m. helicopter insertion to repel Viet Cong attacks during Lunar New Year. Presley is a Richardson High School graduate who was serving at Can Tho Army Airfield and is on leave after a year in Vietnam.
