Richardson ISD approves $35 million budget and tax increase
The Richardson Independent School District board approved a record 35 million dollar budget and certified the tax rolls for the next year. The plan includes a 12 cent per 100 valuation tax increase for residents, with about four cents attributed to inflation, according to assistant superintendent Raymon Bynum.

Regional transport group wrangles over steering votes

Crash injures woman in two car collision on North Central Expressway
Richardson police investigated a two car crash on North Central Expressway at 10 11 p m Monday involving Nell Capp Covington of Plano driving a 1968 car that struck an unoccupied Volkswagen on the southbound west shoulder. Covington was taken to Presbyterian Hospital with her condition listed as fair Tuesday morning. Police seek the Volkswagen owner. Also reported were two thefts: a bicycle worth 40 at 1015 Newberry and a home break in at 1200 Renner Road with musical equipment firearms and $1200 in edible meat taken.

Cottonwood Pool to Stay Open for Fall
Cottonwood Pool on Belt Line Road will be the only Richardson pool open for public swimming through fall. All other city pools are closed for summer. Hours are 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturdays. Summer swim tags last until Labor Day September 3. Without tags a 50 cent fee applies. After Labor Day fall swimming costs 25 cents per person or swim tags at $3 from city hall or pool. Fall tags are valid through November. For more information call 231 4042.
