Richardson Chamber to Host Annual New Teachers Banquet
The Richardson Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Welcome Banquet for new RISD instructors Monday at noon in the Richardson High School cafeteria. The program includes the 27 minute film Remarkable Richardson and welcomes from Mayor John J. Gordon and RISD officials.

Richardson hosts European teachers in first American Host Program
Four European teachers spent two weeks in Richardson as guests of local host families and schools. They were impressed by American life and school systems and some plan to return for extended stays. Richardson Teen Recovers From California Car Crash
Richardson High School senior Vicki Keith remains in recovery after a two vehicle crash in San Mateo California left her with a broken neck. Keith daughter of Lloyd and wife resided at 212 Pauline Drive was a passenger in a small foreign car that collided with a 55 ton gravel truck. Driver David Scott RHS graduate and Dallas resident Kyle Graham suffered only minor cuts. Barbara and Kay Bishop former Richardson residents were also involved with Barbara having minor injuries and Kay treated for a brain concussion and fractured nose. Auto damage estimated at 1600 dollars.

DeMolay Conclave Honors Texas Leaders in Galveston
Thirty area DeMolay members attended the state conclave in Galveston where Auvergne Priory, from Richardson Dallas and Plano chapters, was named outstanding priory in Texas. Richard son’s Kurt Steenson earned second in State Flower Talk and Tom Donaldson of Dallas was elected Imperial Illustrious Knight Commander for Texas. Candy Hall of Dallas was named State Priory Queen. several chapter sweethearts and nominees joined the trip. Local advisors D W Allison and Roger Pond received the Cross of Honor, with chaperones including Bob Smith and others from Richardson and Plano attending the event.
