Outdoor sports thrive in Richardson youth program
Richardson youths enjoy year round outdoor activities coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Department. Programs include football baseball basketball soccer tennis and swimming with volunteer coaches and facilities maintained by PARC. Community groups RSI YMCA Optimist Lions and the city sponsor leagues and clinics, plus a new citywide soccer effort aided by Dallas Tornado members.

Richardson Public Library and the Richardson Branch of the AAUW will launch a joint project this fall for literature discussion groups. The plan includes flexible meeting times, home venues, and nonmember participation with AAUW guidance to aid organization. Registration starts September 15 at the library.

Outward Bound speaker to address Richardson Noon Lions
Rene Martin of Richardson will speak to the Richardson Noon Lions Club about her 26 day Outward Bound expedition in the Minnesota and Canadian wilderness. The recent Bishop Lynch High School graduate lives at 1112 Hamilton Drive and plans to attend Trinity University. The club meets Tuesday at the Bonanza Steak House on South Central Expressway.

Management Seminar Attracts City Water Officials

Dallas Lions Host West German Youth Exchange Visitors
Four Richardson High School German students helped inaugurate the West German American Youth exchange with Dallas Lions District. The German delegates travel Texas visiting Carlsbad Caverns Fort Davis McDonald Observatory and NASA in Houston Galveston area while staying with Lions families. They will later tour Washington DC and may meet President Nixon before returning home.

The Richardson City Council will meet at City Hall at 8 p.m. Monday. Agenda items include opening bids for an emergency generator, reopening a public hearing on Zoning File 6924 to modify density in A-950-M and A-1000-M districts, a public hearing on Zoning File 6932 for a four acre site at Spring Valley Road and St. Paul Drive changing from A-950-M to O-M Office District, and a two year extension request for Roy V. Kincaid Jr. for storage and horse facilities at 1500 E. Arapaho plus visitors.

Dallas County towns study a nine month feasibility plan to run a countywide ambulance system.
