The 15 member City Council Charter Study Committee meets at City Hall to report on sub committee progress studying charter sections. They plan final refinements for a September meeting before possible fall voter approval.
The Rev. Joseph Edwin Britt 57 pastor of Crest Baptist Temple died Monday in Dallas He was a native of Arkansas and had lived in Dallas 19 years Also pastor of Faith Chapel in Dallas and churches in Royse City and Bremond Funeral services were held Tuesday at Kaufman Pike Church Dallas with burial in Camp Ground Cemetery Kaufman County Survivors include his wife a daughter two sons three brothers four sisters and three grandchildren Pallbearers were B R Tiner Larry Rogers J H Vines Ernest Pollard Fess Chaney and Johnny Hollerman
Dexter Walvoord of the Richardson Police Department searches a muddy lake with Ray Walker and J B Toler using a skin diving suit for a missing motor scooter. The dive proves fruitless. Walvoord plans to continue the hunt later in the week.
The House Space Committee says government scientists waste about 150 million dollars yearly duplicating known facts. It approved a bill authorizing roughly 18 million dollars annually to collate and publish standard reference data for use by government and industry scientists and engineers.
Jack Reese of 732 Sherwood qualified as a member of New York Life Insurance Company Star Club for 1965 66 sales. The Star Club honors top agents and Reese earns the right to attend the Dallas education conference August 23 26.
Funeral services were conducted for William L. Curtis 50 of 817 Sherwood Tuesday in Restland Memorial Chapel. Burial followed at Restland Memorial Park. Curtis owned Curtis Printing Co and died Sunday in Richardson after living in Dallas before moving seven years ago. Survivors include his wife a son David Craig Curtis two sisters and a brother.
American troops will fly to the Harstad Narvik region of northern Norway September 2 9 for Exercise Bar Frost a joint training operation with British and Norwegian forces. The Defense Department said the troops deployed by the Army Air Force Strike Command and the Atlantic Fleet would reinforce already in Europe in a rapid response demonstration.
Nightly events run 6 p.m. to late with stage shows at 7 15 and 8 15 p.m. Aug 17 to 20. Performances feature Generals Combo, Go Go Girls, Clubs and Limits combos, Us Four and Unchosen Few. Hourly prize drawings, midway, tickets at door and a color TV grand prize drawing at 9 p.m. on Aug 20.
Texas Instruments supplies radiation dosage measurement systems for NASA Lunar Orbiter, part of the third series with TI parts in the onboard camera and film system. The devices monitor radiation near the film reel and camera shell, translate data for ground stations, and preserve high reliability transistors diodes switches and integrated circuits on the orbiter and booster.

D C Norwood GOP candidate for the 13th congressional seat held a Dallas County campaign workers meeting at Continental Inn to discuss federal aid to education. Richardson area coordinators named were Lester Coleman Jr Frank C Sexton and Mrs Arthur Dotty Brown with roles for women’s activities.
Sprinter Ollan Cassell, a top quarter miler for nine years, announces retirement from active racing to take a director role in track and field for the Amateur Athletic Union.
Burial services for Clarence C. Odom 61 of 531 Greenleaf were held Monday at Restland Memorial Chapel. Dr. Tom Shipp officiated with interment at Restland. Survivors include wife Mary Odom brothers Fred F. Odom M. C. Odom and R. C. Odom sister Mrs. O L. Moore and pallbearers W H Garner Joe Cox O E Hailey Horace Blissit.
Most of the 10,000 British troops being withdrawn with Malaysia will be out of the country by Christmas, military sources said today.
