Richardson Residents Use Free Lawyer Referral Service
Richardson residents can now find a lawyer by dialing a telephone as the Dallas Bar Association runs a lawyer referral service. A 300 member panel, including six Richardson attorneys, handles referrals with Basil D. Sartin coordinating each case. The service clarifies it offers referrals, not free legal advice, and the initial conference carries a $10 counseling fee.

Texas Research transfers assets to Texas A&M and UT Dallas
Trustees of the Texas Research Foundation voted to transfer the foundation assets to Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Dallas effective Sept. 1. A&M gains 380 acres and buildings for a North Texas Research Center. UT Dallas gains 275 acres, the Lundell Herbarium and libraries, and will host an Institute for Environmental Sciences. Two Men Jailed In Richardson Narcotics Case
Richardson police arrested two 20 year old men on charges of violation of the state narcotics act after a tip led to a search in an apartment. Officers found marijuana narcotic paraphernalia hashish and about $10000 in cash. A 19 year old man was later arrested near Arapaho and Newberry Drive for possession of narcotics after two lids of marijuana were found on him.
