Three couples sharing August 14 as their wedding date mark 115 years of marriage with a Sunday open house at Calvary Baptist Church in Irving. Honored are Robert L. Harvey and his wife of Irving observing their 50th wedding anniversary, married August 14, 1921 in Muskogee Oklahoma, along with Cherry Harvey Potts and Robert Potts of Richardson and John and Mrs Potts of Crockett celebrating 49 years. The event will be attended by Harvey children David and Robert Allan, nine grandchildren, including Bobby Potts and Cherry Lynee, and six great grandchildren.

The Richardson Plan Commission tonight OKed a proposed Master Street Plan revision to add an east west corridor from Greenville Avenue via Old Buckingham Road to Audelia Road. The route targets heavy east west traffic and follows a county route plan to relieve Spring Valley Road congestion. Bob R. Pitcock secured a special permit for a new garage on Interurban Street after proposing a zoning change to Commercial District. the commission ruled the project allowable under a special permit.

Richardson and Dallas County report a strong first half of 1971 with a 200 percent jump in June building permits for single family homes. Through June 441 permits compared with 220 in 1970, and July kept momentum with 84 permits. Dollar value nearly doubled from 837,930 to 1,575,691. Local and national trends show housing starts at a 21 year high as starts reach 1.8 million nationwide.
