Project chairman Vincent Palmer of the Richardson Exchange Club announced a Car Smash at the 1966 Richardson Community Fair. Visitors aim to wreck an old automobile with a ten pound sledge for fun. Saturday Parade Opens Richardson Fair With Western Theme
The Richardson community kicks off its fair with a Go ing Western parade on Saturday at 10 a.m. led by Mayor Herb Ryan as Grand Marshal. About 45 entries include Junior Citizens of America and Miss Richardson Patty Merritt, plus decorated cars, horses, clowns, bands, and a Miss Texas tie in. A street dance follows at 7 p.m. featuring The Midnight Sons and tickets on sale for The Five Americans appearances and a prize drawing. First prize in floats is 50 dollars with 25 and 15 second and third prizes respectively.
