The Texas capitol dome in Austin received a zinc chromate primer giving a yellow tint as part of a repainting effort. Officials said the color is temporary and the dome will return to pink within about a month, weather permitting. a Dec 27 deadline and a $68,000 contract are noted.

At Tyler last week the Richardson Jaycees earned top speaking honors with Ben Wolfe winning first in Spoke and Speak Up Jaycee. Frank Ziebell placed third in Spark Plug and Mrs. Jerry Morgan won first in Spoke for Jaycee-Ettes. The Richardson group totaled 20 Jaycees and 13 Jaycee-Ettes among 591 delegates.

Little Foxes Tryouts Set For Richardson Theatre Night
The Richardson Community Theatre announces open auditions for The Little Foxes directed by Ronald Dodson. Six men and four women may audition tonight at Theatre-Off-Main 100 Main Street. The play opens September 12 on the ACT stage and runs three weekends through September 29 with shows Thursday through Saturday and a final matinee.

Richardson High teacher completes NSF Summer Science Institute
Teresa L Atwood of Richardson High School joined 97 teachers from 20 states at Murray State University for an eight week NSF Summer Science Institutes. Outstanding scientists gave lectures demonstrations and field trips while the program provided stipends and updated science instruction materials. The institute ran from June 10 to August 2 with tours to Reelfoot Lake Land Between the Lakes and TVA plants and access to audio visual aids and science books.
