Foster parents take in 14 children over three years
Dallas County couple Charles and Alice Kost have provided a temporary home for 14 babies of diverse backgrounds at 1415 Lamp Post. Most children return home after counseling. Lisa, at the Kosts’ house two years, will soon be adopted. Foster parents must be licensed, ages 21 to 65, and homes must pass fire and health checks. About 60 more homes are needed in Dallas County.

City receives funding as drinks tax rebate
Comptroller Bob Bullock released the April through June remittances showing more than 2.5 million dollars distributed to 188 counties and 298 cities across Texas. Richardson gets 3,634.98 with 451.34 from Collin County. cities and counties receive 15 percent each of local tax, while 70 percent of 8.9 million goes to the general fund.
