Water plan support lagged welfare, and bond and tax items showed mixed results as precinct delivery issues emerged. County turnout exceeded expectations with 78 134 total votes cast.

Summer driver education program at A and M teaches aides
The Texas A and M program trains 59 teacher aides and 53 certified teachers for driver education in Texas high schools. The six week aide course and four week supervisor program include methods teaching, simulated driving, and DPS instruction.
