Jaycees Release Partial List for 41st Community Fair Exhibits
Officials of the Richardson Jaycees announced a partial lineup of commercial exhibitors for the 41st Community Fair and Exposition to be held August 16 20. Participants include Simpson Barnett Drug The Buggy Whip Cottage Health Food Cross Country Campers Economy Motors of Dallas Sun Rexall Drug World Book Encyclopedia John Birch Society McCarty Herndon Realtors Sarah Coventry Jewelry and more. A large 60 by 180 foot canvas tent will house the commercial displays along the fair midway north of Greenville Auditorium, with expanded space and foot traffic controls. Exhibitors space remains available through Ad 5 0053 and Ed Spalding AD 5 0836.

Monthly Attendance Indicates Rec Program Is Successful
Figures released today by Ralph Atkin of the City Parks and Recreation Department show a July total of 116,274 participants in various summer programs. Swimming led with 53,438 participants. other totals include 10,381 in classes, 7,527 in softball and baseball, 6,371 in supervised playgrounds, 1,946 in track and field, 1,095 in tennis, and 324 in golf. A regional track meet drew 750 and a regional tennis event 62 participants. A model show drew 180, while 10 joined a playground swim meet. New programs include amateur wrestling and ongoing gymnastics, with many classes and activities at the Recreation Center on Arapaho Road.

Burglary Charges Filed On Two Teens In Dallas
Richard son police in the Dallas district attorney office filed burglary charges Monday against two 18 year old Dallas youths for a daylight burglary on July 26 at 1003 Wake. Over 2300 dollars of goods including musical instruments and guns were stolen and later recovered. One suspect is hospitalized after injuring his leg with a stolen pistol. The other is free on bond.

Family Enjoys Homemade Camper in Garage Project
MAGGIE KENNEDY reports Wes Jones built a camper in his garage for about 500 dollars finishing last September for a family outing in early April. The eight foot unit includes two beds a stove a refrigerator and a table seating six with storage while the family saved over 100 on their Duluth Minnesota trip sleeping in the camper for 13 nights.

Ronny A. Martin, 29, of 914 Prestwick Lane, named chief of the Dallas Geomagnetic Observatory at Richardson. The ESSA and C&GS announce the appointment. the $500000 facility at the Graduate Research Center of the Southwest records the earths magnetic field. Martin, a geophysicist from Clarendon and Texas Tech graduate, succeeds David M. Perkins who moves to Castle Rock Observatory near Palo Alto. He is married to Janice Benson, with daughter Kelly, 4.

Red Cross Learn To Swim program presents the first of three one hour recitals tonight at 7 30 p m at Terrace Pool Richardson The second takes place tomorrow at Cottonwood Pool and the final recital Friday at Arapaho Pool All events run 7 30 p m and are sponsored by the American Red Cross and Richardson Parks and Recreation Department Swimmers are from Red Cross swimming classes and will demonstrate skills and strokes learned Recognition will be given to all Water Safety volunteers including parent volunteers and instructors listed for each pool The public is invited to attend.
