Death of Mrs Lattin Seen in Rich Hill Obituary

The obituary recalls Mrs. Lattin widow Jenkins born York State October 39 1324 widow of J H Carl later married to Rev Wesley Lattin. A physician and temperance activist, she lived in Vernon county Missouri and Rich Hill. She died August 21 after weeks of illness, leaving her husband and daughter in mourning. Funeral by Rev W T Sykes at Walnut Street M E Church. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Robert Hamilton Dead on Rich Hill Farm

Robert Hamilton aged in his seventies died Thursday evening at his daughter’s home in Rich Hill. Known as Uncle Bobby, he was highly regarded by friends and family. A native of Ireland born in Sap, he came to the United States in 1844 and to Bates County in 1867. his wife had died years earlier. Surviving relatives include several children and grandchildren across Missouri and Iowa. Funeral services were led by Rev. KR. R. Coalfey of the Christian church with the sentiment The young may die, the old may die.

Big Republican Meeting Planned in Rich Hill

A meeting of the Congressional Committee once held in Harrisonville adjourned to Rich Hill on Monday September 15. Obituary: F. Long of Rich Hill Dies at 51

Mr F Long died Friday night August 22 at his Rich Hill home after months of illness. Born February 14, 1847 he was 56. A carpenter by trade he leaves a wife and three children. Funeral preached by Rev R R Coffey of the Christian Church and burial in Greenlawn cemetery.

At a called meeting of the Old Settlers Association officers and members in Butler, Sept. 17th was chosen for the annual picnic at Rafter's Lake Park. Committees on Arrangements, Finance, Program and Speakers, and Premiums were named, with T. J. Dey named as the day moderator. President Cisne Wix and Secretary Calvin F. Boxrey urged prompt action for a large, enjoyable event.
