Death of Mrs Lena Bergman of Washington Iowa
Mrs Lena Bergman of Washington Iowa formerly of Boyden died Sept 14 at Logan Utah after a ten day illness. She was 72 years 8 months 1 day old. Cause was shock and pneumonia after an operation. Funeral services were held in the United Presbyterian Church with several local and nearby pastors officiating. Interment followed at Boyden Cemetery. Surviving is Miss Maude Jackson of Washington. Also noted is deer license information and a note on Wm Mouw confined at home with a leg injury.

Robert Green returned home Saturday from Sheldon hospital where he had been a patient for several days after a truck accident. Henry Auberg Sr. came home earlier this week after a week at the clinic in Iowa City. Henry Rohde has regained ability to be up after confinement to his bed for some time.

The Conservation Commission announces three State Conservation Officers will transfer. Duane Wilson moves to Hamilton and Hardin counties and Charles Stribling to Washington and Jefferson counties, effective October 1. Duane Luchtel will serve Woodbury County from September 1. Luchtel succeeds Wayne Sanders who joins public relations in Des Moines.

The Auxiliary unit 272 met at Season Hall with 22 members present. Paula Zimmer reported on Girls State trip and music was provided by Mrs Wm Rons. A program on Constitution and by-laws followed. Members were urged to save Butternut coffee strips for child welfare. Lunch was served by Mrs George Hom, Mrs George Riemers, and Mrs Baartman.
