Prosecution of Governor Carroll Opens with Noted Legal Team

John Cownie has retained C. C. Dowell Jerry B. Sullivan and W. L. Reed to assist County Attorney Guthrie in the Polk county district court on September 20 in the criminal libel case against Governor B. F. Carroll. The Iowa Board of Railroad Commissioners will appear September 19 in Chicago at the Interstate Commerce Commission hearing on proposed freight-rate increases.
