C H Croat Dies in Spencer at 71

Friends in Hull report the death of C H Croat 71 of Spencer Iowa from a severe heart attack Sunday morning. Funeral services were held in Spencer on Wednesday. Known as Charley he served as a depot agent at Hull for many years before moving to Spencer after retirement. He is survived by his widow Anna.

Nine Sioux County residents organize letters for the Iowa Children’s Home Society as it prepares to mail about 1700 solicitations the week of September 12. Labor Day Softball Tourney Won By Reformed I Team

Hull Labor Day Church Softball Tournament crowned Reformed I the champions after a pair of tight finals. Final standings show Reformed I first ahead of A and P, Protestant third, Christian Reformed fourth. Final game scores include Reformed I beating Lutherans 4 to 11 and Reformed J over A and P 5 to 4.

Breuer Attends Luther League Convention at Wartburg College

Leroy Breuer served as a delegate to the Constituting Convention of the Iowa District Luther League of The American Lutheran Church at Wartburg College Waverly Iowa starting September 24. Three hundred youths from across Iowa met to adopt a constitution elect and install district officers for the youth movement. The Lutheran body formed by the merger will begin operation January 1 1961. Leroy is son of Mr and Mrs Emil Breuer of Hull.
