Mr. and Mrs. L. V. Grooters took their son Ronald to Ames Iowa where he will enroll in college on September 7. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Henning took their son Lenny to Ames Iowa where he will enroll in college to pursue veterinary studies.
The 160 acre improved farm of the heirs of Tim R. Rens will be sold at public auction on Tuesday September 20 beginning at 1 30 p m. Located 314 miles south of Hull the property offers productive soil and about 30 acres of pasture with gentle rolling terrain and good drainage.

The regular monthly dinner meeting of the Boyden Commercial Club will be held at 12 noon at the Legion Hall on Monday September 19. The meeting was postponed one week due to the School Election with polls in the Legion Hall.
Western Christian High School at Hull enrolled 378 students during registration held September 1 and 2. Freshmen and sophomores each accounted for 109, juniors 70, and seniors 91 in the class breakdown.
The Christian School began with Convocation at the Christian Reformed Church with Rev. C Van Schouwen as speaker. New rooms required special work by builders and custodians to be ready. Enrollment reached 251 pupils in nine grades with detailed counts from 8th to Kindergarten.

Friends in Hull report the death of C H Croat 71 of Spencer Iowa from a severe heart attack Sunday morning. Funeral services were held in Spencer on Wednesday. Known as Charley he served as a depot agent at Hull for many years before moving to Spencer after retirement. He is survived by his widow Anna.

Nine Sioux County residents organize letters for the Iowa Children’s Home Society as it prepares to mail about 1700 solicitations the week of September 12. ICHS runs foster care, adoptions, and counseling serving 22 000+ children over 72 years and currently cares for 20 percent more children than five years ago.
Mr and Mrs Douwhe J Vander Schaaf took their daughter Rebecca to Pella where she will enter Central College. They returned home Tuesday evening.

Hull Labor Day Church Softball Tournament crowned Reformed I the champions after a pair of tight finals. Final standings show Reformed I first ahead of A and P, Protestant third, Christian Reformed fourth. Final game scores include Reformed I beating Lutherans 4 to 11 and Reformed J over A and P 5 to 4.
Leroy Breuer served as a delegate to the Constituting Convention of the Iowa District Luther League of The American Lutheran Church at Wartburg College Waverly Iowa starting September 24. Three hundred youths from across Iowa met to adopt a constitution elect and install district officers for the youth movement. The Lutheran body formed by the merger will begin operation January 1 1961. Leroy is son of Mr and Mrs Emil Breuer of Hull.
