American Legion Auxiliary Holds Meeting and Plans Lunch
The American Legion Auxiliary met at the Legion Building with 20 members and 10 guests. Devotions were led by Mrs Larry Salmon, and hymns were led by music chairman Mrs Wm Rons. Past winners of the credit point gifts were praised. The group plans a lunch sale for Veterans Day on November 11 and heard a talk by Rev Schipper.

Eye Injury From Farm Grinder At Gerrit Korthals Farm
Gerrit E Slothauber suffered a severe eye injury when a belt on a feed grinder broke and whipped the eye. He was rushed from the Gerrit Korthals farm to Sheldon Community Hospital then to a Sioux City hospital where he remains a patient. It is unclear if sight will be saved. The accident occurred while he operated the grinder for Mr John Stykhuis who was ill with flu. Maria Van Roekel broke her arm above the wrist at school during recess. X rays were taken and the arm was set at Sheldon hospital.
