Des Moines Notes on Suffrage and Masonry Meetings
The Iowa Equal Suffrage Association re elected Afr. Even Belden of Sioux City as president with Mrs Dollie Romans Bradley of Denison as vice president and Mrs Nellie Nelson as corresponding secretary. Carrie Chapman Catt spoke at the convention and a carload of town hogs was planned for a New York bazaar fundraiser. The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons adjourned after a three day session with officers elected led by N B Hyatt Webster City and I P Wilson Burlington. Over 200 masons attended and Des Moines fund contributions for Fa veston sufferers exceed 1800 with 300 more raised statewide and J D Whisamond treasurer taking in more funds.
