Anniversary Reunion Marks 75 Years Since Homesteaders
A reunion at St Johns Church near Boyden commemorated the 75th anniversary of homesteading in 1871. Attendees include direct descendants of C H Winter Deler ich Heitritter Herman Meyners August Winter and others from Iowa and Minnesota. Rev W Striepe led worship based on Genesis 12 1 4 and Revelation 7 9 17 with a fall flower decorated church. A noon picnic and social followed. About 130 people attended from Boyden Sheldon Mitchell Anaheim Sioux Center Hull Laverne Inn Union George Osage Little Rock Osage Sheldon and more.

Centennial plans under way with meetings and ticket sale
Committees for the centennial have met at least once with some holding multiple sessions. Tickets cost 1.50 each and are on sale. The event is set for November 8 at 6 30 PM in the high school gym. Mrs Bergman is general chairman and Mrs John Brouwer is ticket chairman.

Ladies Aid Planed Willow Lake Conference Trip
Forty members of the Hope Ref Church of George traveled by bus to a women’s conference at Willow Lake South Dakota. Mesdames Leonard and Gerrit Korthals joined the group. 87 rode the bus and three attended by car. A dinner supported by Willow Lake Hope Ref Church Ladies Aid preceded an program by missionaries Bogaard Van Horn Mrs Gary De Jong and Rev Nicholas Gosselifk.

Friday afternoon at 2:30 the first Girl Scout Rally will be held in Boyden Town Hall.
