Sioux County Republicans held a Friday convention in Ireton to nominate a strong county officers ticket. Delegates from townships gathered early and chose J. C. Blatherwick to move for C. F. Bailey as Representative by acclamation after committees reported no written resolutions. Bailey spoke briefly after receiving the nomination.
Early morning talks framed the race as candidates shuffled to fit the ticket.
