Sioux County board of supervisors rejected two bids for 3 mile Orange City to Alton paving as excessive. Bids ranged from 389 to 399 dollars per yard for concrete paving similar to Alton’s, about 250 dollars per yard. New bids to be sought in January with no contract unless prices are reasonable.
Grace McCrum daughter of W. McCrum married Gerrit B. Rensink in Boyden in a ceremony by Rev R D Douwstra. The couple will live in Boyden after a brief stay in Minneapolis. Grand jurors and local notices follow with plans for a December Farm Bureau membership drive across Sioux County drawing 18 000 farmers into state and national federations.
Rex Mennings of Rock Rapids prepares for the Holland society built church dedication set for Thursday. The service features a Holland language sermon by Rev George H Dowstra of Hospers and night services by Rev Henry Vander Naald of Sheldon with Rev J W Kois of Matlock assisting. The church, enlarged membership and new pastor’s residence mark the event in Lyon county.
T H Veenschoten and John Veens choten plan an electric line to Peter Meyn AEF Miller and Case Ver Hoef farms using town current. The project will improve homes and buildings on these farms and be greatly enjoyed.
