Northwestern Receives 30000 Annuity Gift for Campus Expansion

Northwestern College and Academy of Orange City Iowa received a 30000 annuity gift from Mr and Mrs Martin Van Peursem of Orange City. The gift funds a 110 acre Lyon County farm designated to support the campus expansion including a large modern auditorium nearing completion on the East Campus. SICK Ray Brockhouse returned home Thursday from Rochester Minnesota where he went for an annual check-up through the Clinic. Bert Wallinga was taken to St. Josephs Hospital in Sioux City Sunday for observation and possible surgery. Henry Van Houte is again a patient in the Lutheran Hospital in Sioux City and will undergo another operation in the near future.

Breaks Leg Ernest Egdorf in Farm Accident

Ernest Egdorf slipped from a stone-boat pulled by a tractor driven by his son Dennis while moving cattle to the feeding lot on the family farm. He was taken to Dr. C. Maris in Sanborn where both bones above the ankle were found broken. A steel plate will be worn for ten days before casting.
