Iowa Victory Declares Republicans Strong in State
Iowa elected a Republican governor Shaw by a large margin and carried the General Assembly with majorities in both houses. Sioux County delivered strong results with high support for the party. Sheridan township cast 86 Republican votes, and the slate overall shows widespread prosperity and adherence to Republican principles. prohibition votes were recorded in Grant and Sheridan townships with Gibson and Moon receiving 9 and 16 votes respectively.

Satterlee accused of stealing letters from U S Mail case in Iowa
Post office inspector filed information against Guss Satterlee of Doon before Commissioner Henderson in Sioux City. Satterlee allegedly sold letters to C P Scott and Charlie Walsh for publication in the Des Moines Leader. Perkins, McMillan, and Walsh subpoenaed as witnesses. bond posted and Satterlee released pending further examination.
