Monday evening vandals damaged parked cars in Boyden by releasing air from tires. Marshall Henry Ruyter said good imprints on the vandal’s cars were found and authorities may pursue the responsible parties if identities can be confirmed.
Richard Auberg visited Chuck Sitter at the Veterans Hospital in Sioux Falls Monday evening. Sitter expects to be home in about a week and is doing fine.
The Birthday Club met Thursday afternoon at Mrs Clifford Vander Wilt’s home honoring Mrs John Doorenbos on her birthday. The gathering included parlor games followed by a luncheon.
Mrs Kate Pitstick fell at her home last Thursday and broke her hip. She was taken to St Joseph's hospital in Sioux City for surgery Friday morning and is expected to be moved to Sheldon hospital early this week for further care.
The Bégin Cantata Choir at the United Reformed Church invites more soprano and tenor singers. Practice is this Friday at 8 P M and all are welcome to join.
The Annual Sioux County Sunday School Convention will be held at the First Reformed Church in Sioux Center. Sessions start at 9 A M 1 30 P M and 7 45 P M with Rev Bert Brower of New York City as guest speaker at the 7 45 P M session. Brower formerly led the American Reformed church in Orange City.
Enjoying a week with home folks, Furlough P F C Allan Schafer and P F C James Doorenbos of Camp Pendleton California completed boot training and returned Saturday. Doorenbos will enter Electronics school while Schafer awaits future orders.
Master Sgt. S R Hamisch re enlisted and serves as an instructor at De Paul University in Chicago. His wife Mrs Hamisch and the children live with him at 2235 N Schiffonied Ave in Chicago Illinois.
Mrs Jake Vanden Heiden hosted a social evening at her Sheldon home to honor her husband on his birthday. A two course luncheon followed. Guests included Mr and Mrs Sam Timmers and children, Mr and Mrs Herman Dieterman, Mr and Mrs Sam Heemskerk, Mr and Mrs Gerrit Brinks, and Mrs Martin Cuperus.
John Bernisse will enter the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls on Wednesday for an upcoming surgical procedure. He is listed as a patient awaiting operation at the medical facility.
The Woman's Club met Monday evening at the home of Mrs John Rensink Sr with Mrs Howard Verrips as Assistant Hostess. Mrs Ed Blumeyer led the program while Mrs R Kruse discussed the topic.
The Praire Gold Council launches a two day Conservation Camporee on April 30 and May 1 at the Bertram Campsite near Peterson Iowa. Scouts and Cubs will tour demonstrations on forestry erosion wildlife and safety skills with a canteen entertainment and a fireworks close.
James N. Wood, field representative of the Sioux City social security office, will be in the Court House in Orange City on Thursday, March 18 at 10 A. M. He will assist people in filing claims for benefits and provide information on the Federal old age and survivor's insurance program. He will stay until all callers are cared for, at least one hour after the appointed time.

The Northwest Iowa branch of the National Association for Retarded Children will hold its monthly meeting at Sheldon High School. The event aims to elect officers and discuss splitting into smaller units. all friends relatives and parents of mentally retarded children are invited to attend.
John Sas was stunned and his ear drum ruptured when a bolt struck a telephone line as he spoke with Chester DeBoer near Hull. De Boer was unhurt, but heard Mrs Sas scream and sought medical aid.
Kindergarten reports absences due to mumps and illness along with ten unit spelling and weather study. First grade notes perfect attendance and weather calendars for March. Sixth grade covers English poetry anatomy and a giraffe of spelling stars. Eighth grade praises spelling perfects and civics progress as seniors plan a class play and college talks.
Airforce Staff Sgt. and Mrs M C Thompson and family traveled from Frankfurt to New York and drove to Boyden to visit at Henry Van Houte's home and with relatives. After two weeks they drove to San Pedro where Sgt Thompson will be stationed.
