Mr and Mrs Frank Burin of Sheldon visited the parental home of Mrs I C Buren Friday evening, visiting as callers and sharing time with family.
Northwestern university reports 4520 students enrolled in the summer session. Among them 123 Kiowa residents and Miss Henrietta Scholten of Boyden are listed. Classes run day and evening on Evanston and Chicago campuses. Dr. Ernest H. Bahne announced the figures.
Mr and Mrs Nick Donkersloot with Edward Ilene and Mae visited relatives in Goldfield and nearby areas a few days last week.
Mr and Mrs John Van Beek and family of Sheldon were Monday evening visitors in the Nick Donkersloot home.
Mr and Mrs Tony Vander Wilt Mr and Mrs Henry Josman Sue VanDiepen and Henry Huis inkveld attend the County Legion Convention in Orange City Friday evening.
The accompanying picture shows Mrs Ilildred Dykstra on her wedding day. She was formerly Miss Bertha Jennette Koerselman before marrying Wednesday at high noon in Boyden.
Charles H. Tye superintendent warns Sioux County rural teachers against engaging with agents selling teaching aids. He says teachers should not feel obligated to buy and that school boards must purchase needed materials. Legitimate agents selling to schools are exempt from this caution.
The annual Picnic of the U P Ladies Aid will be held Thursday at Sheldon Park. Members plan games, food, and fellowship in a community event seeking broad participation.
The VerPloze family reunion was held in Sheldon Park on Tuesday afternoon. Miss Mina Jongewaard missionary to India on furlough gave an inspiring half hour talk. A hat collection raised 55 dollars for a fund to purchase a car for her mission work.
Marlys Mae Blumeyer spent the weekend at the home of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Ben Grooters.
Miss Gertrude Brink and Merlyn Kraai wed at First Reformed Church of Boyden in a double ring ceremony aided by Rev. Brink and Rev. Brower. The couple will reside in Orange City after July 1.
Eighth grade graduates in Sioux County rural schools for 1938 39 are listed among the top 15 percent of 275. Notable names include Evelyn De Wild 96.2 and Nelva Rensink 94.0. A special make up exam for failed May subjects will be held July 10 at 9 00 in the County Superintendent's office in Orange City Iowa.
Dear Mr and Mrs Vanderburg a view of the dormitory shows over three hundred persons at the Grinnell Institute of International Relations housed there. Doctors Benes Koo Markham Belden and others attend a wonderful conference. Also met Mrs Mann County Supt OBrien Co and many big people.
Mr and Mrs Henry Tiedeman traveled to Celon Minnesota on Tuesday. Mrs Tiedeman stayed a week with her daughter Mrs Goeringa at her home.
Mr and Mrs Clarenes Van Rooyen and their children of Hospers were callers Friday evenings at the Gerrit Vanden Bosch home.
Mr and Mrs A R Vada Brink and sn were Sunday venue supper guests in home of Sasusta Warsing of Hall.
Mr and Mrs Adam Kwilkkel of Shelcoi were seen visiting Tuesday in the Bill Kwikkel Howe area. The event highlights community residents engaging in a neighborhood gathering with no incidents reported.

Mr and Mrs William Wargowslky and son Robbie were in a Sunday accident en route to the Lakes. Their car swerved into a ditch and overturned near Bell School Grove but all escaped serious injury and continued to the Lakes where Mrs Gardner met them and drove back to Boyden for an extended visit.
Mr and Mrs J W Vanderburg of Hospers visited Monday in the Willis Vanderburg and Gt Kooiman homes.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mieras and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rensink with daughter from Denver arrived Tuesday. The Mieras couple will operate the Cozy Cafe while the Rensinks plan visits with local relatives.
Evangelist Sam and his assistant Mr. Joe with their wives will speak and sing at the United Presbyterian Church next Sabbath morning. They serve the Women’s Board and work among the Yakama in Washington. They return from the Grinnell Iowa mission and Tama Tama meetings. A free will offering will help travel costs. Some Indians will appear in costume.
Mr and Mrs Wm Van de Hoef and their daughter were Sunday evening dinner guests in the parental home of Mr and Mrs Wm Bomgaars of Newkirk.
Residents of Royden and nearby areas gathered in Sheldon on Monday afternoon and evening to help inaugurate the new community auditorium.

Mr and Mrs H Fink former Boyden residents now in Calgary Alberta Canada visited Boyden for a short time on Monday Mr Fink previously managed an elevator in Boyden
The American Legion and Auxiliary held their annual picnic Wednesday evening in Sheldon Park with members and families in attendance enjoying food and camaraderie.
Miss Mina Scholten will recount travels in Egypt, Arabia, and the Holy Land at the United Presbyterian Church evening service next Sabbath at 7 30. Many will wish to hear this interesting address.
