Veterans GI bill rights allow unemployment aid after temp jobs
The Washington Bureau explains that veterans may keep unemployment allowances after temporary work and may apply during 52 weeks of benefits. Eligibility extends two years after discharge or war end, whichever is later, with a five year cap after the war. Re-enlistment can extend the window. People may apply without leaving current jobs and must not be discharged for cause.
