Farmers QOil Co Doing Bis Business in Oils

The Farmers Oil and Grease Co. led by Joe Steven as president and his brother as manager, reports strong growth handling several carloads of oil and grease with more shipments planned. In Minnesota, George Steven sold two carloads totaling about 130 barrels at Sibley and Mankato.

Remsew Farm Lands Sell at High Price

Two adjoining 80 acre farms belonging to N H Majeres and Frank Majeres sold Monday to Hans Mortensen. The improved tract brought 500 per acre and the unimproved 400 per acre, averaging 450. The farms lie six miles from town and have been occupied by the Majeres family for a century.

Boles Votes Against Prohibition Repeal on House Panel

Representatives Boles and Christopherson voted against repeal of wartime prohibition in the House Judiciary Committee Tuesday. The committee’s action makes repeal unlikely, with the law set to take effect July 1 and remain in force until demobilization ends as declared by the president.

Marie Bosman Wins Dollar Prize for Misspelled Word Find

Marie Bosman daughter of Gerrit and Mrs Bosman won the dollar for spotting a misspelled word in the Booster advertisement and bringing the Reporter to the office. Another dollar prize will be awarded this week to the first reader who locates a misspelled word in the Booster ad. Prize paid Thursday morning.

Winters family moves after forty years on old farm

The August Winters move from the old home near Boylen to George, seeking a longer residence there. Heinrich Winters takes over the famed south Boylen farm, once a pioneer stock farm credited with building fertility and Holstein breeding in the area. George E. Bowers editor of the Alton Democrat dies suddenly in Minnesota. Blacksmith Geo I Miller, acting oddly, travels to Orange City and then Cherokee for care as locals form a stock company to run the shop and hire a new blacksmith.
