Youth Camp Attracts Farm Youth Near Kansas City

Kenneth Slothauber Lyle Dykstra and Duane Schafer of Boyden joined a Co-op Youth Camp last week at William Jewell College Liberty Missouri near Kansas City. Sponsored by local co operatives and Consumers Cooperative Association of Kansas City the event targets 4 H FFA and similar groups with three sessions June 17 22 and an expected 450 youths. The Boyden group is sponsored by Farmers Co op Association. Activities include leadership training and recreation such as dancing swimming candle making textile painting photography puppetry and various games.

Welcome Workers 4 H Club May Meeting At Heynen Home

Eight boys attended the Welcome Workers 4 H Club meeting at Gary Heynen's home in May. Clifford Te Slan resigned as Vice Treasurer and Gary Heynen was elected to fill the role. Wayne Brock and Gary Heynen were chosen to represent the club at District Camp. William Jr Heynen will represent the club at Ames Short Course this summer. The club voted five dollars toward the Youth Exchange. A June club tour and park supper were planned before adjournment. Lunch was served by Gary Heynen's mother.

Sunny Servants Hold May Meeting at Moeller Home

The Sunny Servants met May 29 at Karen Moeller's home. They sang the National Anthem and recited the 4 H pledge. Karen Moeller gave the secretary's report. Eight members answered roll call. Janet Gayer and Judy Ranshall were chosen for Junior and Senior Better Grooming. Karen Moeller led Picture Study. Eloise Hever recited the Country Girls Creed. The Kings Servants met May 28 at Lennyce Meerdink’s home with all 12 members present. Bonnie Athe demonstrated Care Curtains and Shirley Van Sloten showed how to make a Removable Cushion Ton. Honor Mother at Hull park birthday picnic

Residents gathered at Hull park for a birthday picnic honoring Mrs Kate Horn of Hull on her 80th birthday. Attendees included numerous family members from Valley Springs Sioux Falls Boyden Minn and other towns, with thanks and congratulations shared by local groups. The Clover Teens held May and June meetings with grooming awards and various demonstrations and talks, while the American Legion planned a Fourth of July parade with float bicycle and horse divisions. Game Bird Egg Production at Boone State Game Farm reports good hatchery output and planned distribution of 12 000 pheasant and 7 000 quail chicks to clubs, plus released adults aiding new and marginal ranges.

Mobile X ray units to visit Orange City and nearby towns

The State Department of Health mobile x ray units will visit Orange City and nearby communities on June 26 and 27 for targeted chest screenings.
