Ivan Dale Tesselink of Glen dale California arrived Wednesday morning for a summer vacation visit with local relatives. He is staying with the John Rensink Jr family.
Eunice Moret underwent an appendectomy at Hull Hospital on Thursday morning.
Donna VerHoef of Rock Valley visited this week in the home of her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. John Vander Hout.
The Rationing Board issued certificates for June 8 to 15 1942 listing Andrew Moret Boyden livestock and grain 1 tire and 1 tube William Jansen Boyden livestock and grain 1 tire and 1 tube Roman Verschoor Hospers wholesale meats 2 tires and 2 tubes Dealers or agents may not sign applications or certificates for tires or tubes or recaps retreads. Applications must be filed by individuals and certificates issued in their name delivered in person. Please heed the ruling.

A general meeting for Civil Pilot Training applicants will be held Friday evening June 19 at 8:00 in the Sheldon Community Building. The session will outline the training process before enrollment. The Sheldon Municipal Airport is approved to sponsor the program and changes to applicant qualifications include an 18 to 86 age range at enlistment.
Glenn Rensink had an appendectomy Thursday morning at Hull Hospital. The procedure proceeded without complications and his recovery is expected to be standard.
Mr and Mrs Sam Perzee of Danford Illinois and Mr and Mrs Bob Perzee with their son of Rantoul Illinois were overnight guests Monday in the Jack Mieras home.
Messages of greetings were sent to Pastor Emeritus Rev John S Pollock and wife during Sabbath June 7 at Boyden United Presbyterian Church. Dr John W Bickatt preached and delivered these thanks. The Pollocks return a Bible blessing from Numbers 6 24 26 to the congregation wishing peace and grace.

Iowa service station operators rally to collect scrap rubber statewide to aid military needs. A. F. Rich ter urges public to remove discarded rubber from homes and deliver it to stations for donation or sale at one cent per pound, with drive ending June 30.
Dr. Will Van Zanten and Mrs. Van Zanten along with Mrs. Emma Luymes returned Monday night from St. Paul Minnesota. Mrs. Van Zanten visited her son and family and Ellen will visit during the summer. Mrs. Luymes visited the Ver Doorn family in Hollandale.
Bert Nash spent Sunday afternoon with Mrs. John Stegeman and her family at their home, sharing time and conversation in a cordial visit.
