Henry De Weerd of Sioux Center wed Mary Schafer of Middleburg in a surprise ceremony, with a large reception the next day. Mer and Mrs Schafer of Boyden attended, cigars were shared, and local friends joined in celebration. C Schafer and son-in-law visited Boyden Saturday to arrange cigars for friends. O A Baird sold his corn shredder and shipped three cattle loads to Chicago while Henry held good cattle, amid a weak cattle market.
