The 1943 war bond and stamp drive targets Sioux County with a monthly per person quota of 6.84 dollars based on a county total of 2 213 300 dollars from 1 737 000 in the prior year. The statewide quota rose to 216 000 000 dollars and the campaign starts February 22 aiming to finish within a week.
Funeral services for H. F. Bergman were held at United Presbyterian Church. Born September 14 1864 in Allegheny City Penn he began in Boyden hardware in 1902 and served on the town council for years. His brother Charles survives.

The Boyden creamery announced a near two million pound butter year at its annual meeting in the Town Hall. A patronage dividend of 24 cents per pound totaling 86665 dollars plus a five percent stock dividend of 12248.50 were declared. Elmer Brinkman a bomber flight commander and son of Mr and Mrs Gt Brinkman is listed as missing in action in the South Pacific. He had just been cited for bravery in action.
