Brown stamps, sugar, shoes, fuel oil, gasoline, tires, and drum regulations summarized with deadlines through early 1944. Local notes mention residents Ferdinand Meyners, Peter Statema, and guests.
Mrs. J W Vanderburge of Cleveland Ohio arrived in Boyd en to visit her ill brother John A Brick of Orange City who died early Sunday. Services were held December 28 at the See Christian Reformed church. He had a 55 year career in hardware and shoe trades and served on the town council and as church elder. Interment in Orange City cemetery.
Dairy feed payment forms will be available through cream haulers, produce stations, and dairies for producer applications covering November and December payments. October applicants may also apply in January 1944. Submit a signed form with evidence to the AAA Office in Orange City Iowa if you live in Sioux County.

Jake Jans will hold a closing out sale on his farm two miles west of Boyden on highway 18 on Monday January 81. He will sell 5 horses 35 cattle 65 hogs 500 chickens a full line of farm machinery hay and straw. H J Ramaker Auct Boyden Bank clerk. The Boyden Reporter will print the bills and handle the advertising for this sale.
The AAA office clarifies Sioux County No 2 yellow corn ceiling price range from 1.005 at county elevators on the north border to 1.02 at the southern front. Prices based on Sioux City terminal freight and handling fees cause variation between local elevators. Christmas Day visitors include the Schuett and Hollander families from Hull. Meyners and Hollander visited Arthur Steuven. Shaffer guests included Horn and Karsten.
Mr. and Mrs. Jantzen and family enjoyed supper at the Eudora Heilritter home Sunday. Jantzen and Charlotte joined other relatives in Sheldon on Xmas night. Various guests visited the John Hollander and Stegemann families on Christmas Day and Monday. Bert Nash joined the Johann Stegemann family last Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Walter Roehr and Mrs. Ralph Litch are spending the week with their mother Mrs. J. A. Beyer and sister Mrs. John Hollander.

The First Reformed Church of Boyden invites the public to an Old Year Service Friday evening December 31 at 8 o'clock. Rev. J. W. Brink will deliver the message with Rev. I. Barnes assisting. The Consistory extends welcome to United Presbyterian Church and all attendees.
P H McCarthy, former publisher of the Boyden Reporter, recently dropped by for a brief visit. He sold out to Charley Morse and previously owned the Ashton Leader, which he sold to J W Van derburg, who then sold the Leader and bought the Sheldon Mail. Mrs Hollander is improving.
