Santa Visits Boyden for Christmas Event and Prizes

Santa and local Commercial Club members hosted a Christmas visit in Boyden on Saturday December 24 with gifts for children. Prizes were drawn from a box with 46 names including Timmy Rozeboom Candace Heusinkveld Betty Lo Zimmer man and many others sailing through a car show.

Boyden-Hull prepares for a home game against Granville St Joseph on Tuesday January 3 1961 at Boyden Granville. Granville had defeated Boyden-Hull earlier in the season in a close contest. Norman Van Sloten will not be available due to attending a music festival.

Change In Hull Library Hours Next Two Weeks

Hull Public Library will be closed Saturday evenings December 24 and December 31 for Christmas and New Year. Over the next two weeks hours are Tuesday 2 to 5 PM Thursday 2 to 5 PM and Saturday 1 to 4 PM.

Auxiliary Christmas Party Held At Boyden Legion Hall

The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272 met at the Boyden Legion Hall for its annual Christmas party and luncheon. Seventeen members attended. reports were read and approved, and plans were made for January Dime Cards. A fundraiser delivered 2500 Butter-Nut coffee strips to Omaha and support for sponsored child Eleanor Jean Holm in Glenwood.

Word reached Hull Monday that Mrs. Bertha E Wynia wife of Charles Wynia of Venice California died there at 8 30 pm Her brother is Mr Co O Sawyer of Hull aged 79 She left a husband one son and three daughters one son preceded her in death Also surviving are a sister and three brothers Funeral services were tentatively set for Thursday at Moeller Murphy and Moeller Funeral home Santa Monica California

The Junior American Legion Auxiliary Unit 272 of Boyden Iowa held its Christmas party and dinner at the Legion Hall on a Wednesday evening. Mrs Bell and Mrs Moen led the group with all juniors and leaders present. Games were played and gift cards made before a gift exchange and dinner.
