Funeral services were held for Henry Van Veldhuizen Jr at Vander Flaag's in Sheldon and United Presbyterian Church Boyden. He died August 23 at the Sioux Falls Veterans Hospital after a long illness. Surviving wife Ethel Scotting and two sons Henry and Alan Keith. Interment at Boyden cemetery.

Fire extinguished at Erwin Boone farm near Boyden
Wilbur Heemskirk of the Boyden Fire Department fights a gasoline fire on the Erwin Boone farm two miles east and two and a quarter miles south of Boyden. No one was home when reported by neighbor Jake De Zeeuw Jr last Tuesday afternoon. The blaze caused damage to a gasoline tank hose and a nearby tree. two boys are believed to be involved.
