Obituary: Cornelius Salie Dies After Illness at 53
Cornelius Salie of Boyden died April 18 after about two months illness at his Sioux County home. He was born March 8 1864 in Rotterdam and married Gertie Smidt in 1889. seven children were born, one died in infancy. He served on the Boyden School board and leaves a wife, six children Tunis Jennie Lena Cornelius Datus Elizabeth, and siblings in Minnesota and the Netherlands. Funeral April 20 at Reformed church with Rev. Van Lummel and Rev. Megdelsen. interment Boyden cemetery.

Boyden Builds Modern One Story High and Grade School
The new Boyden High and Grade School will be a one story and basement building 97 by 60 feet. It includes a gymnasium assembly hall with a domestic science sewing room that converts to a stage, four large grade rooms, a high school for 55 pupils, a library, science lab, offices, and separate toilets. The structure features steam heat, humidified air, fire proof concrete walls and floors, and plans by the architect of Sheldon Iowa High School with bids read this week.

W H Brinkman died Thursday morning in Sheldon after a year and half long cancer illness. Funeral held Monday at Reformed church with Rev. Van der Naald officiating. Burial in Boyden cemetery. Born 1850 in Zaandam Netherlands, he married Anna De Vries in 1890 and came to the United States. Survived by wife, one son Henry Brinkman, one deceased daughter in law Anna Kwikkle, five brothers, one sister, several grandchildren. Attending relatives listed.
