Tea honors 25th wedding anniversary in Dows
Mr and Mrs Rudy Amysson hosted a Sunday tea to honor the 25th wedding anniversary of Ms and Mrs Guy Peterson of Dows. Guests included Petersons family from Dows, McGowans and Bradah Stoakas families from Goldfield, Arlo McGowan and family from Livermore, and other locals. Petersons received a gift of twenty five silver dollars. Vigorous Vernon 4 H Club met at Leone Rummens home on November 15, 1952. Officers for the coming year were elected: Regina Gilligan president, Patricia Murray vice president, Rae Ann French secretary, Roberta Murray treasurer, Audrey Wigans historian, Sandra Helmich reporter, Leone Rummens music chairman, Carolyn Olden recreation chair. Two new members joined: Juanita Norris and Indy Shire. Leaders are Mrs Irwin Friday and Mrs Rose Hefty. Members planned pal assignments and a group lunch followed by activities.

The Lake Two Farm Bureau held its annual meeting at the Ray Lester home. Officers for the coming year include Stan Sampson as president, Mrs Lewis Sampson as women’s Wim, Mrs Les Stockdale as secretary, and Elmer Harvey with Russell Bygness as boys 4 H leaders. A post nuptial shower hosted by Mrs Ivan Rasmussen and director Mrs Don Bohy at the Rasmussen home honored Mrs Danny Rasmussen with sixteen guests. Blue and white were the chosen colors. lunch followed. Other local visits and social events noted include Mrs Ray Abbas visiting from Strafford, visits by Mr and Mrs G Q Penfield of Clarion and Mr and Mrs Earl Benson of North Hollywood, Calif., a coffee party for Mrs Clinton Jones and Peggy of Omaha, and Mrs Bernard Atterbury of Missouri Valley. Further social visits included Mrs Danny Rasmussen with the Ivan Thompson home at Webster City, Arnold Amerson visiting Earl Crossley at Ft Dodge, Mr and Mrs Ole Bygness and son Russell attending the Shirley Valentin Arvin Juhl wedding at Estherville, and various other local visitors from Clarion and Webster City.
