A black inmate identified as a suspect in a September 4 Livermore pick pocketing broke out Friday night by chewing through a brick wall to flee Humboldt County Jail. Former Renwick school superintendent J. He Ferris of Melbeurtin Hetter known in Renwick as L. H. Rahine died Saturday September 16. He suffered injuries in an October 1932 auto crash and had long been an invalid. Relatives and friends from Renwick attended funeral services held Monday at Melbourne. He served as Renwick superintendent for about five years starting in 1905 before returning to college for his Doctorate. He was adopted in youth by the Aatoline family but later used Perrie as his surname. He is survived by one son and two daughters.
