Kindergarten 38 in morning and 19 in afternoon, first grade 32, second grade 40, third grade 0? fourth grade 35, fifth 33, sixth 28, seventh 34, eighth 27, ninth 26, tenth 29, eleventh 21, twelfth 29. There are 103 students in the Hardy building and 157 in the Vernon building. High school enrollment is 105.

Three teenagers fleeing from police in Minneapolis crashed into a car driven by Pret Schwandt of Hopkins. Schwandt, father of Mrs Ray Block of Renwick, was taken to Swedish hospital in fair condition. An 18 year old driver faced multiple reckless driving charges for running two stop signs and other offenses.
A Sept Saturday trail ride attracted about 100 riders from across the state starting at McHose Park near Boone and routing to Pilot Mound. The 24 mile event began at 9 am after a 5 30 am departure from Renwick with Elmer Phillips and Howard Daseh hauling horses. Weather disrupted plans for entertainment and camping, leading riders to sleep in cars and town hall. Amenities included a cookout by Boone Saddle Club and a late return to Renwick around 8 30 pm. The Boone Saddle Club sponsors the annual ride.
The school election occurs Monday Sept 11 at Renwick Town Hall from 12 noon to 7 pm to elect two board of education directors. Per a reorganization agreement one director is to be chosen from Renwick Town Lake and Vernon townships, with two directors to come from the area east of Highway 60. Incumbents Donald Clowes and Loren Schipull seek reelection, with nomination papers filed by Ger hard Nerem and W H Bill McCurry. All reside east of Highway 60.
The week featured weddings in Eagle Grove and numerous visits across towns like Renwick and Clarion. Attendees included Abe Rademaker and Wes Carlson, with extended family from Hardy, Randall, and Des Moines.
