Gimer Family Reunion Held at Har Gimer Home

The Gimer family gathered in Renchet last Sunday for a reunion with about forty attendees. Attendees included Cora Homan Folkerts Homan Fonts Homan from Abbott and other relatives from Riceville Wheaton Story City Seaton Sioux City and Brite. Mrs Cora Homan is spending the week at the A D Gimer home.

Fire at Glen Martin farm destroys hired man’s car

Firefighters from the local department answered Sunday morning alarms at Glen Martin farm to quell a blaze in a double garage. Ted Kubick’s Ford, recently paid for and heavily reruled, burned completely but the structure was saved. Insurance had lapsed two days earlier.

Sixty Years Old Livermore Gazette Anniversary Note

The Livermore Gazette marks sixty years this week noting wars and fairs since its start and teasing an ox roast at its hundredth year. Grace Long teaches at Lake Park this year. Band Mothers host a teachers reception at the schoolhouse Friday inviting the public. Mr. and Mrs. R M Goertsch traveled to Davenport for the funeral of Mrs Yeager. S C Maurer and George Latch exchanged town residence properties in a real estate deal. Mr and Mrs Chas A Walker and family and the Blesies visited Spillville last Sunday.

Old Settlers Picnic Program at Livermore Sept 6

The Humboldt county Old Settlers picnic at Log Cabin Livermore on Saturday September 6 features a noon picnic dinner followed by a program including the Humboldt high school band invocation by Rev Rankin a business session community singing piano by Shirley Porter tap dancing a Rutland number vocal solo by Mrs Craig Nel our evergreen "Fifty Years Ago" by Frank Art Swiss Yodlera from Renwick Piccola solo by Kathryn Dimler a Gilmore City male quartet and Rev Clark W Williams as speaker plus county deaths report including G E Briggs.

Packard Family Reunion At Smith Park Draws 70

The annual Packard family reunion and picnic gathered about seventy relatives at Smith park last Sunday. Attendees traveled from Maple Hill Rutland Corwith Goldfield Maouoketa Lincoln Eagle Grove and other towns for the event. The gathering featured visits and updates among kin and a broad sense of family reunion in a small community newspaper style.
