The Baptist Youth Fellowship met Sunday evening with Ruth Martin at her parents home. Kenneth GilespieTed led the discussion. A delicious lunch was served by the best ro aier.
The S O S Bridge Club met last Thursday afternoon at Mrs J E Jones's home for three tables of play. Mrs Floyd Lane received the prize for the highest score, Mrs George Latch won the drawn prize, and guests were given house plants. A chili supper followed.
The WSCS met in church parlors on Wednesday afternoon with devotions by Mrs. Tilian Brayton and a lesson by Mrs. Lila Mae Larson. A business vote approved purchasing eight new carpets for the rostrum and aisles. A clovious lunch followed hosted by Mrs. Otis Lane and daughter Indian, with Mrs. Floyd Lane. The next WSCS meeting is set for November 2 in the church parlors hosted by Mrs. Win. McKie and Mrs. Junior Brophy. A pink and blue shower honored Mrs. Leonard Bird and Mrs. MS Vickroy, with games and prizes won by Mrs. Wr. Brophy and Mrs. C. L. Mack, followed by lunch.
The October Hardy PTA gathering featured student acts from the intermediate grades including "Me ay giv Zimmermai" and "A Healthy Westerner." LaVerne students performed songs and instruments while refreshments followed. Local families and relatives visited the area for the weekend, with several dinners and visits noted among residents.
Lake area social notes list Mr and Mrs Leo Bartzen and Mr and Mrs Howard Harvey at a football game with Mrs Milton Nelson in Ames. Fort Dodge hospital visits, guests at Carlson Hebner and Wayne Nebraska families, and numerous Sunday dinners mark a busy week across Estherville Britt Britt area towns.
Mr and Mrs Cox Lerda and family visited Mr and Mrs Melville Wilson in Humboldt Friday evening. Mrs Carl Hebne entertained nineteen ladies at a party. Mr and Mrs Joe Gangstead attended a relative's funeral at Grasttinger Sunday. Mel and Mrs Stanley Sampson were Sunday supper guests with Mr and Mrs Vernon Weld. Charles Heggen of Seattle visiting his parents Mr and Mrs O C Heggen and other relatives.
