Community Guests Gather for Weekend Visits Across Iowa

Numerous families in Ames Engie Grove and surrounding towns hosted relatives and friends over the weekend. Visitors included Ben Schmits and daughters, Art Maasdam and Janice, the Krauses, the Raber family, and others from Enterprise Mason City Estherville Tru man and Gret. Naval Cadet Philipp Oppedahl and two classmates stayed with Edward Oppedahl, sharing meals and guest time.

Rendwick News social notes and 4-H meeting results

Richard and Allen Rossman visited Washington and Wilmette relatives and traveled to Des Moines Perry and Woodward before returning home. Supper guests in the Pergande home included Merle Balhorn and family. Vigorous Vernon 4-H Club met at Mrs Raymond Paine's with 10 members and two leaders. new members Donna and Bonnie Thompson and Jean Hoveland joined. Officers were Linda Engstrom president Judy French vice president Joyce Hefty secretary Glenda Smith historian Sharon Bosworth music chair Beverly Hoveland recreation chair Kathleen Anderson and reporter Nancy Helmich.

Owl Lake Boosters 4-H elect officers at member meeting

Owl Lake Boosters 4-H met at Paul Heggen home October 10 with seventeen members and four guests. Three guests joined as new members Allen Anderson Monte McCurry and David McCurry. Officers elected were Edwin Hebner president Roger Oppedahl vice president Jerry Tjelle secretary treasurer and Paul Heggen reporter. The group reviewed record books and discussed the year ahead as Tom Harvey spoke on Breeds of Beef Cattle.
