The Wright County Rural Community Chest Drive is planned for the fourth week in October. Residents are urged to prepare for donations and support local charity efforts.
Mrs William Platte of Masah City welcomed a baby on October 12. The child has two sisters and two brothers. Sister Mildred Paskin, formerly Mrs Pintle, is from Renwick. Myx Dale Kraft is hospitalized at Mercy Hospital in Florida for surgery.
Church notes list Sunday activities with a pastor and Sunday School at 9 00 a m and worship at 9 45 a m.

The Amvets held officer elections at their Tuesday night gathering on Oct 17. Elected were Commander Sart Youney Adjutant 44 Nerem Treasurer Clarence Hefty. A separate note mentions a 500 party event and several local visits.

Tom Gimer announces the Boy Scout fundraiser with an army of solicitors set to begin Monday Oct 23 at Bon Om school house briefing until 8:30 and return by 8 pm with proceeds to the Gimer home. If unable to attend kits will be at the creamery and collectors list is provided.
The Boy Scouts held a meeting at the scout room where several scouts earned badges. James M. Anderson received a star badge and second class badges. Kent Swanson and James M. Anderson earned second class badges. Twelve candles symbolized the twelve points of the Scout Law as the meeting closed with the scout oath.
Mr Robert Fisher left Monday for Bloomfield Nebraska to be with her mother Mrs Orville Ellis Her father died Sunday evening and his funeral was Wednesday at Bloomfield Attending were Robert Fisher Jr Harlan Eugene Fisher and Mrs Fisher and Debbie
Wenkey Carlson reports the local Board of Education voted to hire Smith Vorhees and Jensen Architects Associated to survey and plan facility improvements. The project aims to address elementary space needs and new programs while meeting state approval standards and expanding education options for Cedar Falls students. The board expects an architect’s report by mid November and will share details to help citizens decide on future facilities.
Funeral services for Adam Edward Klasse were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Evangelical United Brethren Church Renwick with Rev Laurice Streyffeter and Rev Paul Williams officiating. Interment followed at La Verne Cemetery. He died October 15 1961 at his farm home aged 83 years 2 months 12 days. He was survived by two daughters and a son and ten grandchildren.
Lt Dale Biesie named commanding officer of the Town Highway Patrol district 11 based in Cedar Rapids with six counties under him. A 16 year patrol veteran, he was previously a sergeant in the Southwest patrol district. He is a Renwick native married to Nadine Anderson of Greenfield with a married daughter in Kansas City Missouri. His career includes seven years in the navy with four before World War II and three during the war, action in Europe, and wounds from landing operations off the Italian coast.
Mrs Miller Wergeland hosted the Tél club with 16 members and one guest, while other clubs met. BIW and Legion Auxiliary gatherings, Eastern Star Friendship night in Livermore, and the Fort Nightly club event featured speakers and birthdays. Attendees included Mrs Thomas Ers, Mrs Vern Hartis, Mrs Carl Kelling, Mrs Glen Martin, and many others.
The Bobcats defeated Gilmore City Bradgate 6 to 0 in a Friday game. BU gained 464 yards total with 228 rushing and 176 passing while Bobcats quarterback Humecoming led with 112 rushing yards by Chuck Dobbs. Two conference games remain: at Dows on October 2 and Ka nawha here on September 27.
